Energy correlations in random transverse field Ising spin chains
The end-to-end energy-energy correlations of random transverse field quantum Ising spin chains are computed using a generalization of an asymptotically exact real space renormalization group (RG) previously introduced. Away from the critical point, the average energy-energy correlations decay exponentially with a correlation length that is the same as that of the spin-spin correlations. The typ...
متن کاملMagnetic properties of manganese based one-dimensional spin chains.
We have correlated the structure-property relationship of three manganese-based inorganic-organic hybrid structures. Compound 1, [Mn2(OH-BDC)2(DMF)3] (where BDC = 1,4-benzene dicarboxylic acid and DMF = N,N'-dimethylformamide), contains Mn2O11 dimers as secondary building units (SBUs), which are connected by carboxylate anions forming Mn-O-C-O-Mn chains. Compound 2, [Mn2(BDC)2(DMF)2], contains ...
متن کاملRandom Spin-1 Quantum Chains
We study disordered spin-1 quantum chains with random exchange and biquadratic interactions using a real space renormalization group approach. We find that the dimerized phase of the pure biquadratic model is unstable and gives rise to a random singlet phase in the presence of weak disorder. In the Haldane region of the phase diagram we obtain a quite different behavior.
متن کاملSpin reduction transition in spin - 32 random Heisenberg chains
Random spin3 2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chains are investigated using an asymptotically exact renormalization group. Randomness is found to induce a quantum phase transition between two random-singlet phases. In the strong randomness phase the effective spins at low energies are Se f f5 3 2 , while in the weak randomness phase the effective spins are Se f f5 1 2 . Separating them is a quant...
متن کاملSpin Correlations in the Two - Dimensional Spin - 5 / 2 Heisenberg
We report a neutron scattering study of the instantaneous spin correlations in the two-dimensional spin S = 5/2 square-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet Rb2MnF4. The measured correlation lengths are quantitatively described, with no adjustable parameters, by high-temperature series expansion results and by a theory based on the quantum self-consistent harmonic approximation. Conversely, we fin...
